08, cbr1000rr laid it down on the left side, but didn't put a scratch on the front braking system (master cylinder, calipers, lines r not leaking, pads have a gud amount of material still, & no visible leaks) i have tried to bleed the crap out of the front brakes and still it hasn't got any better. after i bleed them it will gain soild pressure, but when i roll the bike a few feet and grap the brakes again i have no pressure on the 1st pull, maybe half pressure on the 2nd squeeze, and like full pressure on the 3rd squeeze of the lever. then i roll it a few more feet and it starts all over again with no pressure. has any mone else experienced this or have any ideas as to what else i could try?

 

Sounds like you have a big bubble in the line somewhere. Are you putting a hose on the bleeder or just letting it squirt? Put a hose on the bleeder and watch for bubbles. I always use a clear bottle to drain the fluid into.

 

Guaranteed bent front rotor. When the rotor goes through the caliper at the bent point, it pushes the pads away from the rest of the rotor. you grab a handful of brake and it takes that extra travel to close the pads close to the rotor again.

The pads do not travel very far so even a rotor that is bent even as little as a non visivle .020" will cause all sorts of problems. Pull the rotors and have them checked.

 

id get someone to take a look at that, and try to not crash your bike too

 

naw i've just been letting it squirt out. i try to take off the rotors and check them 2moro and c if that helps.haha nyea didn't really plan to lay it down but 2 late now, thanks guys

 

hehe I ment while you are working on the front breaks not working =P

seeing if the rotor is bent is really easy, if you have a front stand just put it on and spin it. if you dont, get a friend to sit on your bike and just walk forward with it, stand in front of the bike and look at the rotors at the bike is coming towards you, if they are not 100% thats your problem

 

i had the same problem when i wrecked my 06. it is a bent rotor. as you are riding VERY SLOWLY, look down at them one at a time. you will see the wobble in which ever one is bemt so you dont have to take them both off.

 

yea i check the rotors with a dial-indicator and yep the right one is bent, so i'm gonna order a new set. thanks guys

 

I just got into track days, and bought an extra set of rims (with rotors) for my 08 1000rr. I put the new rims and brakes on using the same brake pads (stock). I also noticed the brakes seemed like there was an air bubble, but after putting on stainless brake lines and changing all the fluids, the "air bubble" was still there and after reading this post I think it has to do with the rotors/pads. Do you think the problem could be with me using the same pads for both sets of wheels/rotors? Should I be switching out the pads each time? I have not put the other set of wheels on again to see if I still have the inconsistent braking with the original rotors.
