Default FLAPPER MOD FOR 2006 MODEL ! ! !

can anybody tell me if the air intake on the 06 model is definately different to the 05 with regards to carrying out the flapper mod out on the bike ?

im sure its different as the instructions on the rogueracing website ( www.rogueracing.org/flap.htm ) , its states that at low rpm that the flap stays closed to breathe through to smaller flaps ( cant see them on 06 ) , well the flap on my 06 was open on idling speed and stayed open after switching engine off , this dosent seem right to me as why would it be there to stay open all the time ? someone out there got to know the answer ?

If you would read .........

So they slap one of these flapper valves in place that only works with the bike in gear, the clutch engaged & a sufficient load on the motor so NO you cannot rev the bike & try to watch the flap open & close...

It also states with sufficient load on the engine. Try riding the bike you leaned right over the front looking at the flapper. That would be fun. If your flapper is hinged, then it is going to move at some point! maybe it only moves when the bike knows when you are not looking.....LOL

Flapper mod has been done on my 06 and is working fine, did it as per rogueracing website. Don't concern yourself with seing it you will definately hear it and feel the extra go at low rpm.

i think the 04/05 is different than the 06. my door is open even when off and that is the purpose of pluggin the hose to open the door.

i also plugged and unplugged the hose while running couldnt tell anything different.

Did it to mine last week. Results were exactly as predicted. It's not like installing NOS, it's a mild difference, but noticeable.

yea i ride with it removed now. My rs5 yosh is pretty loud so I cant hear a diff. I just leave it off (unhooked) and ride the thing. these bikes have so much power that you cant even get on it hard in the city....... Its Crazy !!!!!!!!

Still want more power though
