Default It Finally Happend

It was perfect weather today so a couple of us took the bikes out. I just bought my 06' 1000rr last year towards the end of the season. I just put the first 800 miles on it, and took it in to a parking lot today and there was gravel all over the place and the bike came out from under me. First time I've ever been down and it had to be on the nicest bike I've owned. [:'(] There was about 15 other riders in the parking lot, and a guy came up to me and said, hey let's go put this by mine, I just did the same thing 20 minutes ago. He had a brand new Busa.

Default Gravel...

I bought an '06 1000RR last year, right before the season ended so I suffered through the whole winter, waiting to ride my first liter-bike. Today I took it out for it's first somewhat long ride and tomorrow I will be out all day with it. So far I have been lucky with the gravel being minimal yet there are times when you can't help yourself. Oh, I always wear full leathers these days. When I ride I avoid the city at all costs and I didn't buy the RR to hang out in parking lots, but then again, I have no friends who ride. Hey, I have no friends at all. I just realized that. Damn...

Lol, nice! Nah we usually just all meet up there and then take off on a run. Usually don't spend more than 10 minutes in the lot.

So sorry to hear of your mishap. I feel bad for you as I love my 1K too. I hope you didn't sustain too much damage.

Thanks. There's a small crack in the right side fairing, and it's scratched all to hell. Right rearset is bent pretty bad, and the clutch cover is scratched up a little bit as well. Luckily I was wearing my gloves because those puppies saved me from spending the day picking stones and rocks out of my hands. I was looking on ebay for a right fairing and found one for 180, but there was a company from Japan or Korea I think that was selling complete fairing sets for like 450 bucks. They had some really nice looking sets as well. The only thing that sucks is it cost 220 bucks just to ship it, and if there is a waranty issue, they say the buyer is responsible for shipping charges. I checked out 1000rr.net and it sounds like people have had some really bad luck with the company that is selling the fairings, but also some people that have had great results. Anybody here have any experience or heard anything about them?

Thanks VP and Mick. I'll try to get some pics up tonight of the damage. Only good thing that came out of it was it ripped my front blinker off, but I had a set of flush mounts at my house I hadn't put on yet, so those got put on last night.
