I pick up my new 08 Friday...finally. After 4 months of waiting and dealing with the insurance and stealership I finally get the bike. OTD price on a new 08 1k, 0 miles straight from Honda, with extended warranty....9800. Killer deal considering my theft insurance is covering 5k of that. Now the crappy part...buying all the mods I once had*sigh* $$$$$.

 

What's up Nafstap ..congrats on the new bike. Hey you only got $5 grand from the insurance company for the stolen bike? Kinda strange for them not to give you full price of the bike less the mods cause I've heard they don't compensate those. Aren't they suppose to give you full stock book value?

Well the Ins company paid off the stolen bike and gave me 5k on top of that towards a new bike. So all in all it worked out great for me. They didn't cover any mods however so that sucked, but oh well. I am getting the exact same color as the on in my album, stock of course.

 

Are you going with all the same mods or are some of them do overs with something else?

Whats up Thrash! Not too sure. I'll prob go with a different undertail. Stick with the Rizoma Grips and ASV levers. Samw windscreen. Ill most likely go with the Sato street hooks as opposed to just black powder coated rear pegs. Not sure yet about what I will do about the exhaust and rearsets.

 

so they paid off your bike and gave you 5k. how much is that total because that sounds like a pretty good damn deal, unless you only owed 2k.

 

sorry to rain on your parade there Nafstap. . but that aint that good a deal on an 08. . don't know where you live but in Chattanooga & Nashville you can get one for $7899 out the door!

 

I had theft insurance that put 5k down for me, my standard insurance paid the bike off and sent me a smaller check since I owed less than it was worth.

I live in the communist nation of California. It was a good deal for me because I didnt pay full price. I guess when you look at the overall OTD price it may seem high, but when you look at what I paid, it was a good deal. The protion I was responsible for is well less than 7899.
