Default EXHUAST FOR 1000RR heatshield

I bought a new 06 1000rr and they threw in a micron slip on. I put the fender eliminator kit on it today. Will it hurt anything if i take off the heat shield under the seat? It sticks out a little and doesent look good. Anyone know what the best slip on is for the 06 1000rr? I dont know if i like the micron.

You can cut off the last little bit and it will be fine. I had mine cut off for over 10,000 miles and 3 trackdays and all was good. There are 2 little tabs the hold up the end besides the allen bolt on the end of the tail. You can cut it off at that point and it will hold up fine. I just did the same mod to my 07 Repsol. I also painted it with high heat ceramic black paint. I'm waiting on some film to develop and I'll have up some pics soon.

I took offthe heatshield and lined the area with COOLIT adhesive heat resistant tape/pad.....if anything it saves a few lbs by removing it.

Trust me, it'll get louder. I've got a Micron twin outlet and after 6000+ miles, it's louder than it was when it was new.
