Not that I know of. What kind of engine problems are some people saying that it has?

I own an 2008 1000RR and that year had a reputation for burning oil. Not all of them had that problem and mine doesn't but whenever a few people post about it suddenly every 1000RR made in 2008 supposedly burns oil.

This is the first I've heard of it.

Honda tech here, never seen an 08-13 with factory engine issues. The only catastrophic failure I've seen was from oil starvation. Dude bought it at another shop and I guess the Kid doing the pdi messed up. Long story short, they are great bikes. Do yourself a favor, though. Get the 2012 model, it has the all digital gauges and the Showa big piston forks and balance free rear shock. I have owned and ridden many sportbikes and this bike is easily my favorite. I own one. Well worth the extra cash for the newer model. Especially if you are already looking at 11's.

I also have an 08 1000rr no oil burner problems only thing I ever heard of is when Honda sent me the warranty extension for somethin in the motor I can't even remember what it was, but apparently it could start clunkin under a lot of hard acceleration from a stop so unless you take it to the drag strip on a regular basis the 08's are fine problems fixed obviously in the newer ones, only issue I've heard of from Honda but haven't heard anyone haveing the issue
