My next stop, of course, is the dealer. None of you does upshifts without using the clutch? I roll off the throttle when shifting. I shifted the same way on my 98 600F3 for five years without any problems
As a normal course of riding I use the clutch. With power shifting you're trying get the most power to the ground in the shortest period of time. . I'm not sure why you'd want to do that on the street?? If you can, start using the clutch I think you'll be happier. The 1000RR hasnt been my most durable bike. I'd avoid telling the delaer bout the power shiftin too.

Default RE: Difficult Shifting

Just an update. Took it to the dealer (Cal Coast) and the service tech said he couldn't find anything wrong with it when he rode it. The shop called the Honda service rep and he said that as bikes break in, the effort of shifting can change. I wouldn't think that it should get more difficult. Basically, until it no longer shifts, they won't look into it. Anyone live near Ventura, CA? I would like to have some other 1000RR owner try mine, and I theirs, to see if it's just my imagination. I promise not to shift without the clutch.

The tech also suggested I change the oil to Honda HP4 (synthetic blend) w/o Molybdenum, as he feels the shifting may improve. Anyone agree with that?
