hey guys, i have a 99 cbr f4 and the weather in ny is getting colder....about 20 degrees.

I had my bike started and running last week when it was a bit warmer...(the bike is kept in a garage but unheated) but today (about a week later) i tried starting it again and all it did was just crank. I had the choke on and pulled on a throttle a bit but it was a no go.

Does this sound like a common problem with the f4s in which they don't like the cold?

or is there something i should look into?

did u winterize it with the stabilizer.. iv got an f2 and an f4i....the f2 always took a bit to start after the winter..get some starter fliud and spary it in the tb if its a bad gas problem it will start up with the spray

 

yea im pretty sure i had about a gallon of gas in the tank so i put almost an ounce of the stabil fluid.

i've taken the battery out and putting it on a tender tomorrow

just gettin too cold for it....but i will try the spray if all else fails...thanks!

 

when is the last time u cleaned your carbs .my aprilia rs50 started acting up taking longer to start after it's been inside for the winter. replaced the spark plug put fuel,battery fully charged and after cleaning the carb the bike runs like new

 

last time i had it cleaned was last season in the summer...its ok tho...the bike is started!..just took a lil starter fluid!
