I have noticed it, would I not buy a bike because of it, NO WAY. The cbr1000 is a awesome bike. I would not worry about the smell of exhaust fumes.

The only time I notice it is if I'm wearing a backpack commuting to/from work. Otherwise, I don't smell anything.

ORIGINAL: dwhite645

I have never noticed it, nor have I ever seen any residue on the suit. Besides, if someone said I smelled like exhaust, I'd take it as a compliment.
+1 to dwhite645.

"Its not a fashion, its a passion" Ride what you like, and F*** anyone who wants to give you a hard time about it. I ride because I think its cool. I love the way I feel when hit my line and slice through a corner. If I stop for gas and some doesn't like my helmet hair, it wont change my smile.

i just got my 06 and have not noticed ay smell? my wife who has a super nose has not mentioned it to me. she use to with my other bike that has a high pipe. if she has not yelled at me to take my gear out to the garage it must not smell to bad? and mine is bone stock, for now! winter is now here in cleveland so its time to start adding goodies. hit some wet snow on the east side of cleveland on the way home tonight, saw some salt truck out but not throwing anything yet.

I have an 04 I bought this year. All stock and I never noticed it on the long runs or in stop and go.

If you notice exhaust on your clothes your not moving fast enough.[sm=gears.gif]

I am going to start manufacturing my own line of cologne called "Exhaust". For those die hard motorcycle riders.
