CBR1000RR SP1 issues
Guys I purchased a brand new 2018 SP1 and am having issues which are quite taunting for both a new bike and a HONDA
First after 3K km the timing chain tensioner went bad rattling the chain at 5K I literally had to beg the dealership to replace it under warranty and they did not believe that was where the noise was coming from.. Next and most disturbing is a heavy pinging at between 3500 and 4250 rpm, the dealer says they have not had any such complaints and I should change my fuel,, end of conversation. My bikes warranty is up this month end, which they reminded of and I am on my own...
Anyone else have a similar issue or can offer suggestions on my way forward, looks like this is my only hope. Thanks

I really wouldn't know.
Pinging could be a various amount of problems.
- bad ignition cables
- knock sensor failure
- wrong sparkplug gap.....
Rattling of timing chains in such an early milage has often a lot to do with maintenance and oil quality.
I'm driving an BMW 6 culinder which aparently ar notorious for timing chain issues.
But I have no issues after 275.000km. I change the oil every year with the recommended oil.
This might also be the issue with these problems.
Further if the issues would not be solved within warranty I would consider returning the bike.
You might have other problems at hand which might be very expensive or impossible to solve.
good luck
