cbr 1000rr vs zx 10 r, convince me please
hey guys,
my name is Max. i have a 2006 zx 10 r. I am leaning toward buying a new 2007 cbr 1000 rr in red. i cant stand the 08 so the07 is what i wanna get. I know both these bikes are awesome, but convince me on the cbr 1000 rr.
just a few pics
Zx 10- pros- love the look, brutal bike, lots of motor and power. Cons- shaky front end, horrible brakes, dash buzz
My bike has 4200 miles on it and i will get a new red and black(2007) cbr 1000 rr for $3200 OTD
should i do it? What are the upsides? Any suggestions, please im looking for lots of input

Hell i dont even have one, but i will say this from my experience having ridden both bikes here and there. Looks aside completely (honda is much nicer anyhow 
) While the Kawi has a bit more power, i think the Honda is a much smoother delivery, therefor much easier to use it. Ergonomics, i think the honda is a bit more upright, making much easier on the body for normal riding. Braking i think is pretty close imo, both stop quickly and easily. One of the other big kickers for me (may not be at all for you of course) is when i goof around on my buddies bikes, i found the balance point for wheelies really high on the Kawi, the Honda was lower and much easier to keep tame during wheelies. Now, if i had to pay an extra 3200 bucks to get one, i dunno, it would be tough. However if it were gonna be the last bike i buy for a few years i would probably do it. I am honestly trying not to be bias here, i do think the Honda is a lil better all around, the Kawi is an awsome bike also, and the power is amazing, but for my riding i would ride red. Best of luck on choosing man, either way you gonna have an awsome ride.

Dude that Kawi looks bad ***!! I have an 06 cbr 1000rr and love it. But if you are wanting to get the 07' instead of the 08' just on looks, I would stick with the Kawi. The slipper clutch is huge on the 08' and the performance sounds like a huge step up from the 06-07'. If you hate the look of the 08', check out some pics of what it can look like in a different paint scheme. It makes a huge difference.

This is a tough call since all of the open class bikes are so powerful and handle so well. I haven't rode a ZX10 lately, so I can't speak from experience, BUT...
-the CBR makes more low-end power, beyond that, the ninja dominates.
-The CBR is more forgiving and holds very steady even at high speeds
-Comfort- well, that depends on the rider, bu I have almost 14,000 miles on my 2006 and I don't have any complaints.
Really, I think the rest is all going to be nit-picking. But like I said, I honestly can't think of anything to complain about on my bike. I haven't had any problems and I feel very confident when riding it. I love the HESD (steering dampener) and the way the bike handles.
Good luck with your decision!

If you can lose your preconceived ideas about the looks of the 08 I think you would love it. A lot of people slated it for its looks but the dealers cant get them quick enough here in the UK anyway. I have one in black and love it. I chased my mate around Fife in Scotland yesterday on his ZX-10 '06 he has all the mods on it and has been riding a lot longer than me and knows the roads better than me but could not shake me off. That is how easy the 08 is to ride, I am no Dani Pedrosa believe me but the way the '08 bike handles , accellerates through all gears and importantly stops is just awesome...........take one out and it will add even more confusion to your decision making I know that might not sound like help but hey you might just dismiss the other two once youve had teh 08 out and then your problems are solved. Enjoy whatever you get anyhow and be thankfull you have the choices to make.
