CBR 1000RR Traction Control!!!
I noticed the new 2007 Gixxer 1000 had a new traction control system, but (unfortunately) I own a 2006 CBR 1000RR.
It took a lot of time and configuration, but I was able to adopt the GSXR's new traction control system in a slightly revised version able to work on my CBR 1000RR. This method can be used on other bikes also!
Move the "Mode" lever to "A" in slippery or poor traction conditions
Move to "B" position for slightly better conditions
Move to "C" for full power, track-like conditions

RE: CBR 1000RR Traction Control!!!
"It is in no form of traction control no matter what anybody says" and that was stray from the mouth of a Suzuki technician who said that a month ago at my new model update seminar. One magizine said it was and that is what everyone thought. When the article was printed the Suzuki lawyers said it was a huge liabiltiy saying that the new feature was traction control. IT IS NOT TRACTION CONTROL.
Mode A-full engine power throughout the entire throttle range
ModeB-Full engine power from 70-100% throttle, about 80% power from 0-70% throttle.
ModeC-60-90% engine power throughout the entire throttle range (90% in the lower rpm range tapering to 60% in the higher rpm range)
Can be changed from Mode A to B to C and back, or from Mode A to C, or from Mode C to A.
That came from my Suzuki update book word for word.

RE: CBR 1000RR Traction Control!!!
According to what 1fasthonda is saying, that doesn't seems like what I would consider traction control. I think a little self-control linked to your wrist would be just as good if not a better form of traction control. From what I understand, a real traction control device is an electronic sensor that automatically regulates your fuel flow depending on the slip condition of the rear wheel.

I agree completely. Although some magazines have considered the Gixxers new Mode Selector a type of traction control, other magaizines state simply what it is- a device to limit the amount of power that the bike will unleash. I was just having a little fun with the topic...
