An 04 what? What does that have to do with a CBR vs. G1K? Forget what the mags say...they bikes are ALL very close! My 04 CBR made very close power to a ZX or GSXR stock for stock same years. I would imagine the 06's are close as well. Quality and smoothness of the Honda can't be beat though.

when i getmy 06 1000RR i have a race with a zx10r, with low miles, full exhuast, k&n air filter, custom tune and -1.. i can launch better, he never shuts up about how fast he is, i believe i can beat him, what do u guys think, my 06 will be stock when i first try it, then exhuast, bmc race filter, voclity stacks, flapper mod, -1 in front, pcIII.. custom tune then i will try it again and we will see what happends

In stock form, it is like splitting hairs, nothing really in it. I rode both before buying my Blade. If you could ever use it the GSXR has a higher top end. The Blade got to 180km/h first, if you dropped the rear sprocket to a 40 I'm sure the Blade would make the same top end and the GSXR would be next to it at 180km/h. Unfortunately the dealers would not, understanibly, allow me to ride either on the track to compare lap times. Then once I got mine on the track it was far from stock as I'm sure all the GSXR's were ..... then there is rider ability that becomes the biggest factor. I say go with the one that 'stirs' you the most when you ride it.

IMO even with the mods made to the Ninja, minus a gear change, it will come down to rider skill. From what I have learned going down one tooth in front and up two in the rear will do more for launching off the line then a PC or pipe. I can take my buddy of the line, me on my 05 600RR and him on his 04 600RR only because I geared mine. Other wise I'm sure he would have me every time since he been riding all kinds on and off road bikes for years longer.
