Default am i getting shafted?

hey guys my bike is in the shop because i went down and i think the estimate he gave me was high. ok the bike has damage to the left side, it needs a footpeg, gear shifter, clutch lever, the left handlebar, front wheel and tire. the guy gave me an estimate of $1900 and i just can't imagine how it adds up. oh and today he told me the forls and brakes are bent too. what do you guys think? should i take it somewhere else?

but there aren't that many parts. i figure the wheel and tire probably 700 and the rest of the pieces are between 50-100. so that means he is charging me almost $1000 just in labor? all he is doing is swapping out parts.

ha man,
i think you are lucky i think wheels alone are around 700.00 hell i had a 2003 silverwing scooter and a friend dropped it on the right side scratched the fairings and it cost me 1500.00 for repairs and i had none of the damage you are talking about.

First get a break down of the prices the dealer is giving you to include parts numbers then go to www.servicehonda.com, find their phone number. Call and price the parts through them. I guarantee you will see that servicehonda.com will save you a lot of money. If you call servicehonda.com ask for Melissa. She will take good care of you. It was good that you took the bike to the dealer because they have figured out what you need, IMO that is the hard part. Like you said all the dealer is doing is swapping parts so buy the service manual and do the swapping yourself. If you want with the money you save you will be able to buy yourself a motorcycle lift to make doing all the repairs and any future work to your bike a lot easier.

The only other option you have is take your time and wait for parts to show up on eBay.

true but i wish it was in a moire timely manner too. i dropped the bike off last monday and i'll be lucky to get it by memorial weekend. as a paying customer i think the work should be done in a timely fashion. i don't have pics of my baby hurt i just want to get over it already and start riding again that's the worst part about it is not being able to ride.
