Just bought my '06 1000RR on Friday, and I was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on an alarm system to get? Thanks.

I just got the Scorpio last week. It was easy to install with the factory adaptor harness.
I got the one with the regular Arm/Disarm + Perimetor Sensor + Engine Shut off

I taped mine in to the red wire that comes off the battery that has the inline fuse it is a 16 guage wire. It makes it so if some one takes you keys and try to start your bike it goes off. Easy way to see if its the right wire is pull out the fuse it should not allow you to start your bike. if i am wrong please someone correct me i dont want to give bad advise i am just telling you what i did and it works. hope this helps

How does the alarm effectively protect your bike from being stolen if some guys decide to pull up, lift it onto a truck and then drive off in 15 seconds? This is what happened to my CBR last year,...in the rain.

1) Everyone seems to ignore an alarm these days. I hear about 2 a day that went off by mistake...I guess...as I no longer bother to look when I hear it.

2) Me running out to see (and having to confront) 3-4 guys lifting my bike isn't exactly a deterrent either.

I basically keep mine ina garage and don't leave it anywhere on the street alone when I am out riding...This kinda sucks because last week my buddies were meeting up at the movies..(spur of the moment)..I was out on my bike and really didn't feel comfortable leaving it parked at the theatre for 2 hours.

Is an alarm truly effective or is Lojack better for the same price? I was thinking about Lojack, but I have a $5,000 secondary insurance policy if the bike isn't found. With the secondary policy, I really don't want the bike found if its stolen and having to get repairs done etc. I’d prefer to get the Insurance cash value + secondary $5K to get a new one.

The secondary policy is only $400 for three years of coverage. I will probably get Lojack once the policy expires.
