600 vs 1000 canyons!
Now its obvious that the 1000s have the tourqe and the Hp to smoke any 600 on a straight, but what about a curvey canyon road where the longest straights are no more than 500-600 feet and that even is very rare, wouldnt the 600 pass a 1000 being a lighter bike, assuming the riders are at the same skill level?

Not necessarily, they are both very light and powerful. The only real advantage with the 600 is how nimble it is but the 1000 isn't far off if any. The 1000 can carry more speed into the corners though. All in all it comes to the riders ability to control the bike.

LOL.
If you have the EXACT same riders on a 600 vs 1000 through intense twisties......no doubt in my mind the 600 would begin to pull ahead, but the 1000 wouldn't be far behind. (talking a second or two, no more). The 600's have less weight to throw around, and can brake a little later than the 1000. But these are SMALL differences. Hardley anything to be concerned about with spirited street riding. Racing, yes. Street riding, no.

if the rider was equally skilled, i would say the liter has the advantage, but only ever so slightly.
the new liters are so nimble and agile, and yet powerful, very tossable.
definitely get great drives out of turns (assuming the front doesn't come up or the rear spins out)...then again the 600s now have great drives too and with straight aways only 5 to 600 feet, i'm not so sure the 1000 will be that far in front.

Well I have the final word on this... and there can be no arguing the point any further...
...
...
...
...
...
The 1000 will win... UNLESS
...
...
...
the 600 wins... OR
...
...
...
...
They tie.
One of those 3 things will def happen if riders of equal skill race the same canyon twisties.

hello old fat guy
how are you. i dont understand this is a 1000rr forum and all we get is someone compairing a 600rr a r6 or a ri or a gxr1000 and iam just trying to make a statement. when i owned a 600rr i was on the 600rr forum and buy the way to all those 600rr lovers i loved mine to was a great bike but when people stand back with their hands in their pockets thinking wow i believe that i can beat this 1000rr with that 600rr in the twisties well that just gives me something to hoot about.
first of all the 600rr has about 50 less hp the 1000rr only weighs about 25 lbs more and the torque curveis way beond that of the 600rr. so any one knowing any thing about torque knows that the 1000rr will out torque the 600rr all day long i just get tired of trying to explain do you own a 1000rr or are you making a statement that you no for a fact that the 600rr will eat the 1000rr. i know i have owned mine for a year now and saturday a week ago was the first time that i really let the wings out if you no what i mean and their is no way that my 2003 600rr with a yosha full system a power commander and a 3 2 sprocket combination would even come close to the speeds that this 1000rr will do and the scare factor is way up their to just ranting.i would just like to no if we are a 1000 forum or a anything forum.
