Thumbs up 2008-2011 CBR1000RR Yoshimura R77 Slip-on install notes

When you receive your R77 slip-on here’s some important instructions thatare not indicated in the instruction manual
  1. Grab a pair of needle nose pliers and remove the tension springs (thereshould be 4 of them total. Take note, that the muffler springs are longer, thanthe mid-section springs)
  2. Separate the muffler and tailpipe assembly into 3 pieces (muffler,tail-pipe, mid-section). Loosen the right rear-set bolts (2 of them)
  3. Install the Yoshimura heat-shield forward retention bracket to the stockexhaust header retention bracket using the stock bolt, angle it towards thefront of the bike so it looks like this \ (see install manual and pics)
  4. Install the tail-pipe piece to the stock header and clamp it down justslightly (you still need to move it around a little)
  5. Install the mid-section pipe and move it around so the heat-shield retentionbracket is not touching it
  6. Install the muffler, line it up so the mounting hole matches the rear-set footpeg mounting hole, insert the bolt and turn, but leave it lose.
  7. Move the entire assembly around until everything is lined up. Ensure theexhaust isn’t touching any part of the bike, then tighten everything down tospecs.
  8. Clean the entire exhaust system using rubbing alcohol 90%. Ensure there areno finger prints or grease.
  9. Use your needle nose pliers to reinstall the tension springs, be carefulnot to touch the pipe, or you’ll have to clean it again
  10. Prepare to mount your heat shield, follow the instructions in the installmanual (definitely use blue Loctite
  11. Double check clearance all around the exhaust
  12. The R77 without the DB killer insert is loud as hell on a 1000cc bike! Getready for it. My bike sounds like a Ducati hard core!
