Default 2008 1000RR OTD PRICES??

Hey guys, I am looking to purchase the new 1000rr this coming month somewhere in California. I am going to be paying for the bike 100% in cash at the time of purchase, so I am hoping to get a great deal OTD. Do you feel dealerships are willing to negotiate currently on the 08's??

Right now I am looking at Mountain Motorsports and OTDcycles(inglewood), any recommendations?

What did you pay OTD for your beautiful 08' CBR in California? Other states?

Trying to get the best idea of what price I can negotiate with a dealer and be successful, I'll be driving quite a distance to get to either dealership and not looking to make multiple trips.

Thanks guys
Eminent

Got mine at OTD for $12k. Mountain Motorsports as well as Chaparral are not known for dealing much so they'll probably want more.

Yeah ur right however I believe their NOT shipping and you have to go in person to purchase in PA. I think the other stealership is in the OH area.

Hey Eminent... if ur going with cashyou probablystand a very good chance of negotiating withthem.

In NYC..I paid $11,400 out thedoor (tax +900 dam taxes..lol)...also with free cowl as I was able to nego a little withall cash too.

Add on sales tax at 7.25%-8.25% plus shipping and you're not saving that much. Also, those are 49 state bike which can't be registered in Cali until there is over 7,500 miles on it. We get hosed on the price of bikes (southern honda's '08's are listed at $9983) but there is a higher demand for sportbike in Cali (southern especially) than anywhere else in the nation. Just about everything cost more in Cali.Itis a fair trade off because we get toride 365 days a year. [sm=shades.gif]

Yeah I guess sales tax is a lot higher outside of Georgia... it's 6% where I live...if you bought one here that would put you right at $11k including shipping on a $9899 bike.

One thing I did find out though is almost all of the dealers who sell on eBay require you to show up in person to sign the paperwork and pick up the bike (which is completely pointless for an internet sale but WTF do I know)

Dealerships might deal a little better if you finance, only because they make good money on the finance side. Some dealerships make more on that end than they do on the bike.

With cash they have no reason to deal.

This is the way it is at a car dealer and I see no reason a bike dealer would not be the same way.

Even if you have the cash, sometimes financing can get you a better initial deal and then in a few days go pay off your loan.
