What ^^ said!
I bought a 05' had it for 3months then the 06' came out just had to have it..so traded for the 06' since than have spent way too much on extras.. then the 07' came out but its the same. thought I would of had to trade up but NO I feel in love with my bike and its set up with all the extra goodies Ive put on. Even though it aint the latest model...it is better due to the extras Ive put on to personalise it too me.. In short I would get what available now and so long as U get to ride it now!(No wasting time dreaming of what could be). just my 2cents..

There should be a new Honda CBR1000RR introduced this Fall as a 2008 model. The bike is rumored to be substantially lighter than the current version (going on a diet similar to the new CBR600RR), but maintain its traditional in-line four cylinder engine configuration (rather than a v-four or five previously rumored).

The bike is also rumored to homologate several new electronic systems for future superbike competition, including traction control. It is possible Honda will also feature switchable engine maps, similar to the current Suzuki GSX-R1000

Seems like a sportsbike needs one map...the fastest one.

Look up the thread with the pics of the new cbr 1k. Its in here somewhere. There will be a new cbr1k, it has the front end of the new 600. Tail lights hanging like on a R6 and a shorty exhaust.

You think the pics you see on some forum are real and no one else has them anywhere?

They surely will not have another repsol next year but they will have another one in probably 2 years. I think they decided to have one maybe every 5 years but since they won the motogp championship this year they decided to have another one out. The new bike will have repsol colors but probably won't be available for a couple of years unless they decide its a money maker.
