Default 2007 1000rr or a 600rr

I put a post under the 600 section whether or not to get a 07 600 or 1000rr. I had the 05 black and tribal 600rr and made a mistake and bought a 450r motorcross bike. I didnt really have any trouble making the transition to the 05 600rr. I am looking to trade in my 450 on the new 07 1000rr. I am 20 years old and have been riding dirt and street for about 8 years. I just didnt want to get the 1000rr and be scared of the power. Like i said the 600rr wasnt really to powerful for me and i wouldnt want to be dissapointed in the 600rr if i bought that again. I would just like to know what you 1000rr badasses think of the power and if i would be able to manage it? Thanks for you posts!

go with the 1000, just have a lot of respect for it...its a great bike and the power seems neverending, as long as you take your time on it, you should be fine...good luck with your purchase

I would go for the 1000. It's all up to you. You gotta be smarter then the bike. My first street bike is the one i have now which is a 05 1000 Fireblade.

The power is definitely nice to have, but over the last few months I've started to appreciate the nimbleness of my trusty F4i. I've found that I mostly notice my 1krr's power doing 3rd gear power wheelies and carting chicks around. Both of which my GF is not very impressed with or the local police.

If I can manage to get over my "displacement envy" I will probably consider dropping back down to a 600rr or GSXR750 next year.
