2006 cbr1000 rr
I have the black and red that only has 3.5 miles on it. I bought it last Thursday down in TN but since I have been modifying my trailer so it will hold four bikes for a trip to Daytona I have not had time to get my tags for it let alone ride it. I love the looks of the 06's and when I get back from Daytona, we leave tonight at 9P by the way, I will be putting many mile on it. I will give a full report when able.
I got my black '06 in black about a week ago. I put 50 miles on it Sunday but can't compare it to any other CBR's since my last was a Yamaha 600cc.
The power is smooth though, ride is comfortable for a 6'0 185-ish guy, and I think it looks sweet. And that's all I have to say about that. I'll be able to share more when it gets warmer and I can cound on the tires stickin to the road.

Looks like the '06 is very similar to the '04/'05 with similar mods. I'd get a leftover, new '04/'05 at the dealer and put the savings towards parts. You'll end up with more bike at less cost.

I have an 06 - had it since Feb 22 - can't compare it to the 04/05, because I have been riding FZ1 street and road race track. The magazines say the 06 will leave the 05 for dead at the track. It feels really strong to me. I rolled over 600 miles tonight and just drained the oil and pulled the filter. One of the magazines says there are 211 changes from the 05. So far I like everything about it.
So, for you guys who rode the 2006, is it true that it is pretty twitchy?
For example, the 954RR without a steering damper was very easy to upstet and not to put in the hands of an non experienced rider!!
However, the 2004 and 2005 RR was planted as a locomotive and sooo confidence inspiring and so smooth.
But articles say the mods in 06 made it lose some of it's composure.
As it is often said, Honda usually build motorcycles that are so fast, but they are so smooth that you don't feel it and it
even can be boring (for some). There has been some exceptions, the 954RR being one of them.
To me, composure is good. I'd rather concentrating on going fast than fighting the bike for it to do what I want...
Any feedback on the 06 from you guys would be highly appreciated!!
Keep riding!

well i have a 06 black and i took it out,and i cant compare to last years honda because i am getting off of a yamaha yzf 750,but I will tell you its a smooth quick ride with, what seems to be very light in the turns.I was trying to follow the new bike rules about keepin the rrs down but it was quite tough to do once u get out there on it. your going one speed and feels like your going much slower so watch out it could get u in trouble. thobak
