The owner of the bike is not even selling it. It is the guys friend who I have been talking to. When I asked why he was selling the bike he told me that the guy lost his MCL ? And it took him a while to come up with the answer. So I don't know what to do.

ORIGINAL: Shlock

This guy is looking for 9000.00 and he is telling me that all the extras are worth over 1000.00 I am from PA and I was looking on ebay the honda dealership has one on sale for 9499 + 100.00 set up fee so I was thinking of offering like 8K or 8500.00 but this guy has his heart set on 9k
Shlock,
I'm from PA too. Try Track & Trail in State College PA.... Mine was 8599 + 100 Set up back in June. They are AWESOME to deal with.

I did not get my bike from Southern Honda, I bought it locally 9 miles away!!!!

Maxim Power Sports in Allen, TX and the OTD price was $9700

I explained that was what I was willing to pay, and if they did not want the deal it was fine by me.

They were more than happy to do the deal, and I told them of two others looking, and they said they would Honor the same deal as mine.

$9700 OTD that includes all fees and taxes. Bike Price was $8976 +TT&L $50 Doc Fee, and V.I.T.

WORK THE DEAL GUYS!!!! I love buying stuff, EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE!!!!

The Anti-Dj,

State college is about 4 hours from me but if you are telling me that you can get a new bike for 8600.00 it is worth the ride.

if you can get it for 8600, then that's great. but fwiw, i had a look at the invoice that my dealer had for what they paid for the bike and it showed $9100. this is also a large dealership with a HUGE inventory (they had over 150 06 1krr in their warehouse) so they do get price breaks/incentives from honda. if you get it for less than that you're getting it below cost, and the dealership is either losing money on the sale or honda is doing a promotion for them of some sort.

Boosted,
They do get incentives from Honda, I bought it when they had a big Honda Promo going on...Not to Mention they move more 1K's than most Honda dealers in PA. They also deal in high volumes..exactly what volumes I don't know...I do know the day I bought mine, three others (1KRR's) were being sold at the same exact time, as I had to fight, beg, borrow and plea to get the Red. Keep in mind also, different COL territory's ( $ Income Levels $), they even apply to M/C Dealers. I have a very good friend that went to trade school in AZ and stayed there to work in a Yammie dealer because there were none here hiring let alone paying close to the same. Even at dealer invoice +1% (His employee cost) he could'nt buy his R1 as cheap as he did here in PA...He eventualy moved back here and ironicly went to work for the dealer he bought it from.

Shlock,
I shot your e-mail back.

^ it's strange how honda gives some dealers better deals than others, even when they sell the same volume. i wish they would all get the same prices, that way we would all know what prices we're dealing with. does your dealer ship?

I'm not sure if they do or don't....But Shlock just called them the other day and they are sold completely out of 1K's they told him if they had to get it at another dealer it would be low $9K range. So I called my sales dude just to see if he could hook shlockl up and he told me they are out and most likely can't get anymore from Honda...It would have to be dealer transfered driving the costs up.
