Default 17’ Cbr1000rr question

Just picked up my first big boy bike last Friday, Coming from my first bike which was a 2007 Kawasaki ninja 250r, which i picked up 3 months ago to learn to ride, i couldn't be happier. just got my 600 break in miles and first service done yesterday. i can honestly say im in love. this bike is so damn epic and beautiful. Now, that being said... being the previous owner of a full exhaust c7 corvette, this bike is lacking in the sound department in stock form. i want to use the yoshi header but am not really a fan of the ascetics of the yoshi muffler, do any of you guys know if i can use a different brand muffler on the yoshi header? i would prefer an ap racing muffler. also, do i need to upgrade the air filter with a full exhaust setup? And can i just get an ecu flash instead of buying a power commander? being new to the bike world i'm kinda lost when it comes to modding.

Hey there friend. 1st, if haven't been properly welcomed onto the forum let me say it's great to have you here. 2nd, that is a sweet looking ride. the red and black schemes are always a winner in my book.

To your tech question, someone hopefully will jump on soon and offer something. Your bike is newer than most so there may not be as many on the forum who have tried a mod on recent year. I would think that if you haven't already done so, doing some thread searches for similar 1000rr but earlier year might prove fruitful.

Why do you want to use a yosh header?
Use the stock header with a direct fit muffler or change the entire system with something designed to work together.

Being a new bike, you should have many options out there.

price is the reason, not many header options. Akra and yoshi the only ones i saw. Akra is $1000 just for the header. And i wanna get rid of the cat. Is the cat part of the header? Or can i just get a cat delete mid pipe?

Replace the mid pipe to delete the cat, run whatever slip on you want.
Flash ECU instead of a PC.
Air filter is never required. Doesn't do anything.

New to bikes 3 months ago now on a 1000 and wanting mods.....slippery slope dude you still have a metric s*it ton to learn, be careful.

Hey man just joined the forum, I am also trying to find an exhaust match up for my 2017 cbr1000rr. Still debating on going with a full system vs. just a slip on. Yoshimura's full system is looking like my best option so far but I wish two brothers would come out with one, I like the looks of their slip on a lot more than the Yoshi, but am I doing this for performance or looks? I contacted two brothers and nobody knows when they will be releasing the full system. And honestly the Yoshimura full system isn't too bad of a deal. If you find a mid pipe for a cat delete please post what you find! Just wanted to introduce myself, let me know when you end up going with. By the way I defiantly recommend going down to a 15 tooth front sprocket for one of your first mods, made a world of a difference for me they come geared tall from the factory.

Hey nube to the group! Did you do headers with your akrapovic exhaust or run stock with catalytic converter or gut it???
