Default 147??? WTF???

I need some input. I recently, among the cosmetic mods, have installed K&N Air Filters and a Power Commander to go w/ a D&D Exhaust. I had it installed and Dyno'ed at the local shop. According to the print out I only gained 5 BHP. I went from a supposed 142 to a whopping 147. WTF???[:@] Is this normal??? Or am I missing something??? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like they did a crap job in mapping????
Does she feel like she pulling alot harder at all?
The first time I did a custom map, all they did was downloaded a map of the net, then told me they spent hours tuning it.plus charged me for a custom map$500[:@]...I though it was all good but I expected alot more for the amount of money I spent on mods and mapping...

So a few days latter I thought I might just
plug my laptop to the pc3 just to have a squiz and too my surprise,it was a map that they just downloaded, Not one cell different.....

Anyway I went to another shop and they retuned it with a proper custom map,and when I came to pick up the bike...WOW she pulled hard in every gear, every where in the rev range...

What you should do is have alook atthe map they made?and see if its a proper custom?or is it just a downloaded one?

Then take it from there.. But I think maybe the mapping you got done is not 100% suited to your setup..??

Thanks. It doesn't pull much but, it does accelerate and idol smoother. But it's like you said "for the money" I expected more. I guess I'll have to find somenone elseto map it. I think the dealer I took it to is the only one in the area though. Hell I would rather go back to the way it was though if nothing else for the gas milage. Did you get yours Dyno'd? If so, may I ask the numbers you ended up with? 147 just doesn't seem right.

It doesnt really matter bout what i got, as you cannot really compare two different dynos to one another?? but I got 169.2hp@wheel...ButI didnt do a reading whilst stock... But before my run a 06'zx10r pulled 172hp...

But compared to stock and the so called custom map the first time, this guy who done the recent map made her pull hard...alot harder all threw the rev range...engine just purrs no hesitation and fuelling is not that bad...no where as bad as yours....

5 bhp with a slip on,the filter and pcIII sounds about right. The custom map should have made the bike feel alot smoother and stronger throughout the range.

I'm in the same boat as darkness. My DyNO guy was only able to squeeze like three ponies w/ the custom map. I'm sorry, I mean the downloaded map from powercommander!! Thankfully I only paid $100.00. This was also prior to me doing the flapper mod (plugged hose). it did / does feel smoother through the revs though. This winter I want to take it to a more reputable shop. I dont think this guy had the machine (DyNO) calibrated as it was new or had experience w/ mapping. Guess I cant biatch for the price I paid.
