They dont look as sexy lol. I just dont get wtf ppl are to lazy to twist a throttle, but they ok with getting almost twice the HP they 99% of them WILL NEVER USE. Theres not a person on here that cant out ride last decades 600 class much less todays, but they 'need' a 1k. I call BS. it all ego boosting, power hungry braggin rights. 9 out 10 1k in the mtns get their *** spanked by the 600's, even 250's, and some the crusiers are passing. A 600 is no where near slow. ok /rant over lol.

it's all ego boosting, power hungry braggin rights Damn youare right that's one of the main reasons I got a 1000, because I thought that i was missing out on something. My very first bike was a SV650s. Man I really miss having all that torque on the front end. I thought that's what I would get again with a 1000. I dont mind twisting the throttle, I just hate revving the engine high because it sounds as if I'm tring to race.

Going to a 55 profile tire decreases the effective gear ratio, not increases it. That's a contradiction to your suggested sprocket swap.

Down 1 in front, up 2 in the rear. Next rear tire change go with a 55 instead of 50.

To elaborate..
IMHO -1 front +1 rear is not the least bit ridiculous on the freeway in 6th. After riding a '03 GSXR1000 for 4 years (stock geared).. my '07 CBR1k geared -1 +1 feels like it will pull my arms out their sockets. It's nasty and I love it. The first day I rode it geared I made myself a little motion sick, true story. My next rear tire will be a 55 instead of 50 and when I do that I will be adding a tooth in the rear.

Man... to me it sounds like you have something wrong with the bike or possibly with your head. I'm kidding of course. Maybe it's just me but I've never seen a super difference between a stock 600 and 1000 cc sportbike around the city beneath 90-100 mph. Anything above that the liter bike will most likely walk away from the 600. Newer 600cc sportbikes are pretty freakin fast man and to have any stockliter bike walk away from one 0-100 is going to require some mods. I don't mean to sound like an old fart here but unless you're on the track why do you need to break supersonic speed just cruising around the city streets?

Well EATMEBEATME, looks like you been beat to many times cause your talking crazy now. Beacuase of the huge difference in torque and the minimal difference in bike weightthe 1000's walk away from the 600's at any speed. I ride with guys on 600's and they cant keep up ever.
