Default 08 tons of flakes in oil!

Hey has anyone ran into this issue?
Bike has less than 5,000 miles and just did an oil change after 1900 miles and after draining the oil out of my oil pan i noticed i had TONS of metal flakes in the bottom. They look gold in oil but out of oil its aluminum. Bike runs perfect no noise no burning oil.

I think that has to do with the breaking in period, just the piston rings seating properly. I could be wrong but that's what I've read elsewhere.

Break in would have been complete well before it hit 4,947 miles.

Is this the first oil change? Metal flakes are normal on the first couple oil changes of a new bike. There are little bits from the clutch plates and the cast parts. It will look like glitter.... sometimes even colored glitter.
The fact that you say "tons" has me a little concerned, though.

I'd keep an eye on it, but if you're in doubt... call the dealer.

If you can email them to someone you should be able to upload them as a file attachment to a message.
