Default 08 fairings swap.. Who's interested and wants to change up their color scheme?!?!

I have a brand new just purchased cbr1000rr with the black and gray color scheme. What I am looking to do is trade all the gray fairings I have for black ones off the 09. I want to complete black out my bike. So what I have to trade is the left and right fairing, the tail fairing, and the nose fairing. The plastics are brand new. If anyone wants to get the grey and turn their black bike into a 2 color scheme let me know. Can be reached at 312-608-5991 for a faster way of getting a hold of me.

just my just take them off and take them to a good body shop and get them painted. another FYI the 08 1000 i think is the worst bike to disassemble and reassemble. its like a giant rubix cube, the farrings have all sorts of hidden fastners and the tail section just plain sucks! i love my bike anyhow

Correct me if I'm wrong.. From what I know the oem plastics are baked in a oven after being painted.. A body shop will spray the paint on it and let it dry.. Such methods of painting result in paint chipping.. Nothing is as good as the oem one.. At the dealer the oem plastic that I need cost around $1200 for the 4 I need.. And it's a pain to change? Really? That doesn't sound good. Used to have an 07 R1 prior to the 1000RR and that was easy to take on and off..

Yup the plastic is miserable to remove... Imagine the fairing suspended in mid air and the bike being assembled from the inside out...That kind of miserable. If you have a fleet of transformer like mini bots to swarm the fairing from the inside go for it.
I changed the left hand lower after a minor lowside, I speak from experience. I was amazed how inexpensive the oem plastic for Honda is compared to Suzuki.
I was considering Hong Kong fairings but my replacement plastic from Honda was too reasonable to pass it up. I ended up spending less than my deductable to replace everything. The aftermarket plastic makes sense for my buddy with a GSXR1000...it works out cheaper for a full set even with taxes and shipping than the oem lower.

If your saying its that hard, I believe you.. However if I do order the plastics or get them, i would probably take it to a shop to swap them.. I rather pay a hour labor then frustrate myself with them..

They will charge more than one hour to change all of the painted plastic.
