I must say the CBR 1000 2006 is faster than the 2008, has more power even do 2008 has a better engine, is amazing but is so true!

2008 is more luxury than 2006. The CBR 1000 2006, has more power in the run, you feel safe while you driving it, it offers you stability in the highway, with an engine tipe of 599CC and four cylinder and a fantastic transmition of six speeds, amazing right? While the 2008 brings an engine of 990 CC and a gain transmition sounds more powerful but is not!

Boy, TBagr, I think he's got you there. You have to agree that the above is hard to argue! [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

Go with the 06.
So true ... if you want a lesser bike. [sm=alcoholic.gif]

But how can you beat a 2006? It has "an engine tipe of 599CC" while the 2008 has "an engine of 990 CC and a gain transmition sounds more powerful but is not!" [sm=happybounce.gif]

Well I have an 06 it's paid off-has a slip-on, power commander, went two teeth in the back, speedo healer, flush mounts, undertail, double bubble, and a crash cage. Was just pondering if the 08 was that great- my bike dynoed 153hp and I've seen dyno sheets of 08's with slip-ons doing the same so besides weight (or feeling)I cant see the trade being worth it. I doubt I would get a good trade in price-or deal on a new one but thanks for the input.

ok. i had an 061000rr and traded it for an 081000rr. UNBELIEVABLE. best move i ever made. the 06 is fantastic but the 08 is amazing. the weight is the first thing you notice. the 08 feels like a feather when you sit on it. EVERYTHING on the bike works better. look in the 1000 modification threads for pics of my 08 modded up and you will see what i have done to it and what is available for the bike. dont get the 06. compared to the 08 it is a dog.

Your bike is bad- and I want your rims. How much did you already spend in mods?

No offense butthose mods don't mean squat when comparing the 06 to the 08.Put in terms of four wheeled vehicles, the 06 handles like aFord crown victoriaand the 08 handles like a Chevy Corvette.

It is if how a bike handles is what is most important to you. If bench racing at Starbucks is your thing it most certainly won't be worth it. The reduced weight in combination with the change in geometry is what is so good about the 08. The 06 is no where near to being in the same league as the 08 when it comes to handling.

You probably wouldn't. Bikes don't generally have a good resale and those with mods have even less.
