Default 06 Cutting out issue

Not sure if this the right place to ask this question, but here it goes. I have an 06 1krr and I am having a problem with it cutting out or dieing. It happens while driving and it will die for a second or two and then come back. When it does this the gauge cluster goes blank and the MIL light comes on, but as soon as power comes back it all works fine. The idle seems a little rough too. The bike has 2k miles and the only mod that I know of is that is has Scorpion exhaust and the flapper mod. Thanks in advance for any ideas on what this might be.[/align]

I also have the scorpion exhaust and 14,000mile on my 06 and I haven't had any problems. It definately sounds like an electrical problem to me (wire gounding out?), but I am not sure where I would start.

Have there been any mods that might have altered the elertrical wiring- ie. alarm system, turn signals, HIDs, etc? I guess that is where I would start looking.

It has flush mount blinkers and the rear blinkers are underneath the tail. The only thing I wouldnt understand with it being a ground issue is the MIL light still works when its dead and the clock doesnt need to be reset. Sometimes it has to be restarted and the starter works fine. Just seems to be the gauges and spark to the motor. Idk man this has got me scrathin my head.

Ck the battery connections...sounds like a loose ground or sloppy positive terminal connection.

Battery connections are good as well as the key switch. If it was a faulty ground would the MIL still illuminate? Today I noticed at one point after the power came back the tach was not working, then after the second hiccup it was working again. Could this be a ECU issue? Can you reset the ECU like you would on a car?
