RE: 04 cbr 10000 ?
tell him i'll buy a DOZEN of those @ that price
no but seriously - why would someone sell a vehicle for less than 1/2 its current KBB or NADA value ?
go look @ the bike by all means
run a VIN check
perform a THOROUGH inspection from wheel to wheel
if it works out - more power to you

If it is on ebay it is the first bid item I've heard of that offers to show up with cash. How far away are you from him? Seems worth it to try and take a look if you or someone close can. Let us know how it works out. Who ever does go they might want to bring a gun incase it is a set up robbery in the waiting.

Salvage title possibly? If it is on Ebay and the seller has positive feedback that means nothing. Scammers hi-jack people's accounts all the time to look like they have good feedback to reel the suckers in. One way to tell, are they selling a superbike for a rediculous unbelievably low price, but all the feed back on the account is for selling Hummels and teddy bears? That would be a hi-jacked account. Or, do they say you have to be on the "pre-approved" bidders list? Or, they try to get you to negotiate outside of the Ebay system. Anyway, one thing I've learned with age is, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
