Unhappy wont turn over!

hi all,
recently my ignition switch gave up,it kept cutting out at the most dangerous locations!
i sourced a new oem key switch on ebay and fitted same.
pushed the start button and bike started.
then again tried to start but nowt.
checked fuses and 1 no 10amp fuse had gone.
replaced same but no joy.
so i thought the starter relay had gone,so sourced and replaced it to.
no luck if i short the main feed across the starter relay the starter motor turns over the engine but will not fire it.
so something is not right!
any help much appreciated

Hi Boru, have you checked the usual culprits, kill switch isn't shorting, side stand switch and neutral switch are working ok

The side stand switch can get gunged up worth having a look at that, if you've got a multimeter test it thro that , as regards the kill switch they can get rusty in there worth a clean up and check its not shorting, the neutral switch should be alright , have you got the manual

Hi the Green is a constant , it connects with the yellow /Black when down to operate the bulb and then with the green/white to the Icm when up, the kill switch should have Black/white and the other Black to operate the kill switch, follow chapters 15 and 16 for the fault finding

Also check the condition of the wiring for the starter solenoid, it gets very hot and can burn out. It's hidden by the rubber insulation, so peel that back and take a look

Are you sure your ignition switch had a fault initially ? Unfortunately by replacing it you don't seem to have solved your issue.
When you turn your ignition on, does it light up immediately?
When it won't turn over I'm guessing you do have dash lights but nothing happens when you hit starter. No click from starter either ?
Could you confirm which circuit the 10amp fuse was blown from please.

HAWK,
thanks for your reply,i did check under that boot, and found a joint on it by PO. ive made sure that this is sound i think it was a yellow/red cable.
WES the old one worked when i jiggled it,and yes all lights are immediately, and no click from the starter relay.
the 10amp fuse was the second one up from the bottom of the fuse panel i think it does the ignition acc?
as i said it did fire up the first time i tried it after installing the replacement ignition switch, but then i switched the bike off, then nothing checked the fuses and found that 10a fuse blown, replaced it and thats were i am.
