Yep, I had a 190 on the back of my cane and I took it off and replaced it with a 180 55. The handling was degraded and lost the cornering feel the 180 has. Honda designed the bike to be engineered with a 180 and thats , in my opinion, the best choice.

Hi CBRClassic and Shadow!!

BTW I sold the CBR last night, but I will still hang out with you guys if you dont mind....hehee. The crew on the VFR forums are not as cool as you guys!!!

(and DON'T tell me I can ride the VFR........)

A 140 is stock for an '87. I put an 150 on mine and I'm very happy with it. Other than looks, I don't understand wanting to go wider. And, if you don't like the look of the tire width, you won't like a ton of other things about the bike. Like the pipes, the swingarm, the tail, etc.

Its a vintage bike. It isn't a 2008. I don't think it needs to be compared with the look of a current, fat-rubber, butt-in-the-air, insect-like sport bike. If that's the look you're going for, why not just buy a newer bike?

The bike was designed to handle with the tires that came stock. Tweaking it is one thing but putting a monster tire on it is going to screw up the handling. Unless that's not important to you...

Griffin

Did you put the 150 on the stock rim? What brand and size did you go with? Thanks!

Gill

That was very funny

It looks a bit too clean for Shadow1.
