Question Wheel Trim strips - Adhesive or Painted?

I tried some of those adhesive wheel trim strips a week or so back. Tricky. Lots of patience required. Plus mine came with one end hacked up on a couple of the "quarters" so they didn't meet. Pissed me off pretty badly so I trashed them. However, I could tell they would have looked great on my color scheme if they had been long enough.

Anyone had any long term experience with them? Will they last? Should I try again?

Maybe I should just get some paint and lift each end and carefully spin the wheels and apply it. Anyone tried that?

Yup - had mine on for about 3 years now - a decent set of rim stripes generally comes with one extra piece...?? Did they sell you the correct length ones ? (Not a joke, they come in different lengths and the circumference changes to accommodate diff size rims) No problem with them at all.
There was a post a while back on the main forum on how to make an applicator so they go on straight.......................

I think you'd need a very steady hand to paint them on . If you have previous experience painting coach lines that may help , but I'd have the white spirits and an old rag on standby

Whacking her up on the center stand and just spinning the wheels sounds like an easy way to do them though .. ..

Talking

I just received mine in the mail this week. I did a little searching on here on found that TAPE WORKS had the ones I wanted. I bought the Red Reflective. Now If I can just get a few more hours in a day I will put them on. I thought when I put her up for the winter I would take the rims off and do it.
