Default Wheel Bearings.

Well, I have had my rims out for powder coating and ordered new bearings, as far as I can see the rears are fine, still waiting for the sprocket carrier to return.
Anyway, the fronts are to small approx 42mm dia, sure they should be 47mm ish, the packaging states they are for year 90-96, is this a mistake on there part or mine.
The CBR is an 88 BUT now have 92 ish front rim going on, the rear had already been done.
Thanks Alan

From what I can see on the online parts fiche all 3 series of the 1000F take the 6004UU front wheel bearings which are an outside diameter of 42mm. If you have been sent 47mm bearings I'd suggest a mistake on their part as those bearings wont fit any wheel that was for the 1000F. I have a Blackbird as well and I know it takes 6204 front wheel bearings which are 47mm. The current model CBR1000RR take a 47mm front wheel bearing to. My guess is they have confused the 1000F and the 1000RR, sending you the RR front bearings. Cheers.

They sent me 42s, but the ones that came out were 47s, absolutely no idea what has happened to the rim, wether there is supposed to be an insert in the bearing housing but 42s are way to small.
Looks like I will have to order some RR bearings.
Can any one post a pic of the bearing in situ on a 90 on wards rim please
These are the rims I have
Thanks Alan.

Alan, I think Bordo is on the right track. No CBR1000F front rim has inserts or bearings other than the 42mm 6004s. I think you may have an CBR1000r or rr rim. Or even a CBR1100 Blackbird rim.

Is the centre hole (inner diameter) of the 47mm bearing the same as the 42mm bearing. If so, axle size is the same?

Cheers, SB

Well that's a mystery then mate. There aren't any inserts or sleeves in the rims either. The 6004UU bearing just slips straight into the rim with a circlip over the top. Your pics look like genuine 1000F rims but as to how it has 47 mm bearings in it I can't answer that one....lol.

Default Bearings.

Thanks for the input. Well I have spoken to the guy in the in the bike shop I got the bearings from, and he was a bit stumped, but he said he has come across this before once, but he is gonna sort out the ones I need plus seals and take the others back.
Next dilemma is wether the spacers are going to be right.
Thanks Alan.

Default Update, re front wheel.

Well, i've rebuilt the front wheel up. and now fitted to my bike, callipers on original mudgaurd on and also a new sprocket cover with speedo drive, also cable fitted to the speedo.
Spent 4 hours messing with it yesterday, and is looking well, even if i do say so my self, haha.
