Gee , my 1000F has been preety good as far as breaking down goes , but I did buy a few electrical tie's from a Hardware in Melbourne (100klms from home ) ties to keep one side of my lower front fairing on that had come a drift a few years ago ...
And guess what , they are still there today..lolol... seem to be better than those bloody little stupid screws that rip out it seems ...? go figure ?
I have ridden a few road bikes home with , bent and buckled parts hanging off , no clutch lever , destroyed brake levers , gear shifts that are pointing to the ground or the sky bent to buggery , tail light destroyed , indicators , ect ect ... but in near all of those events , I have been in the middle of bloody no where and just got back on and rode them home after bending and straightening what ever could be done with my hand or any heavy object lying around on the side of the road ( steel fencing star pickets are a pretty good as a repair weapon) !! and even occasionally my boot !!! lol yu know how it goes .. if yu cant fix it ," kick the chit out of it ".. it will make you feel better at least ,even if it does not effect the repair !! lol
Its amazing how a good hard well placed kick, can sort out those little nagging issues on the road side , like handle bars that are touching or imbedded into the tank or a guard that has wrapped it self around the front tire some how (old days Steel mud guards!! )...
Here are a few tips and ideas from our indiginios people that live way!! way!! in the middle of bloody no where !!! lol

look like a city street any where else !!!!!! I mean out on some of these , I think you guys call them reservations ? we call them indigenous territories .... they are at times a thousand klms from ****ing anything that would or could be called urban areas ??...!!! so I recon they do well with what they have ! ... lolol
They do have a great system , all the abandoned cars that people leave wrecked in the desert or along the out back roads , they go get and make the bastards go for as long as the can figure out a way to make em go !! ...lololol they are very full of Indigenouity!!! lolol
As long as you got to swallow a few cold Bourbons and have a laugh , om happy mate !!.... ....
