F-H is an '87, F-J is an '88.
K= '89
L= '90
M= '91
N= '92
P= '93
R= '94
S= '95
T= '96
That's as far as my Haynes manual goes.

FH and FJ are the same
FK,l,M,N are the same
P,Q,R,S and etc are the same
Some parts are common, but FJ and FK were the first of the 1000F's
Body work changes between the 3 "groups, also instruments, carbs, brakes, etc etc etc.

Look on www.mrcycles.com at the fiches/diagrams and you'll see the differences.

Shadow, though the 92 (F-N) wasn't sold here in the US, I think it was a second generation model, not third.

Officially there were NO bikes produced by Honda in the F series in 92, according to Haynes.
Stock or overrun from the factory of the M were still being delivered into 92 and were called the N series in some countries( which should be a mark2) so my apologies for the typo.There is no difference between the K,L,M and (N) models.
The P is indeed the 93 correct designation, the first of the third generation bikes.
I have corrected the post - thanks.
