For a size 13, a better question is: what's available out there? I currently am trying out a pair of BiLT track boots, and am pleased with them so far. I wear a 10.5 shoe, and the boots are a 12. They must run small, because I couldn't get my foot in anything smaller. I dont recall seeing a size 15 in the stack though.

Check to see what's out there and go from there. Make sure to try them on before you buy anything.

I now ride with a pair of 'goretex' Thinsulate wellingtons boots I picked up at an Army/Navy near me. They are actually not so hot on warm days but mostly I ride with sneakers.

On my dual sport bike its always work boots.

Timberland steel toes in 12. They work great on my cbr. I used to wear harness boots on my VT1100 and they were okay. The Timberlands are nice because they are really waterproof. Also there is no need to change when I get to work. I have been looking for some actual riding boots though, I'm open to suggestions.

I used to ride with Sears version of the Timberland. Most comfortable steel toes shoes ever. They dropped them and went to another supplier. Those turned out to be not only unsuitable for work, they are so uncomfortable they just sit in the closet.

Now I ride with cowboy boots but would like to get some riding footwear. If the unthinkable ever did happen the cowboy boots would be stripped off as soon as I hit pavement. That thought does tend to make me a tad more cautious, however. Maybe it's a good thing.

Edited to add: The Sears boots were called 'Die Hard'. Emblazoned in large letters somewhere on them. Felt a little silly wearing them to work, but they were comfortable so wore them anyway.

A The question is, or should be why should I not wear sneakers or cowboy boots.
Answer - just catch your toes on the road in either type of footwear - you'll either lose all your toes within the first 4 foot of them starting to drag, or break your ankle so badly you'll be lucky to ride a bike ever again. I'd put up pics of "dragged toes" but they even make me sick..................

But to answer your question as stated - Either steel toecap workboots or Touring boots - Akito model Intra- with heel and shin protection and all around waterproofing that works. Both will be easily hidden under long pants with normal leg width at the cuff which may be important if you work in an office......
B Never heard of any problems with size.

Ankle support is a big one. I wear icon motorhead boots and they have lots of support and protection all around. I've dragged my toe on numerous occasions and I am glad I wasn't wearing runners.

Biggest problem for big footed people I've heard about with boots is operating the shifter can become difficult.

For riding boots I have a pair of these:

RPM Karjala boots, they`re really comfy and super easy to put on cause they have a velcro locking on the toe side of the boots, you can get them on and off with one hand even with gloves on.

For the next summer I have to figure out some arrangement to either keep my working boots in my truck or find boots that I can ride with AND my insurance company agrees with, I bought recently a pair of Original S.W.A.T. WINx2:s...

...that would otherwise be fine for both tasks but they lack the steel toe that`s mandatory in my insurance so I`m probably gonna have to start to keep my work boots in the truck, cause despite those RPM:s were the cheapest shoes in the whole shop they fit me 100% and I`m REALLY picky with my shoes...

Does anyone have any experience (riding) with HAIX boots?
