Default Well it' time

Gooday friends

After 160000kms, the camchain is making noise and might also need to check the alternator chain, will call the shop tomorrow. I did the valves this week-end and top end is beautiful, no wear signs and the valves did not moves since the last check. Not burning oil and the frames and all the rest is perfect .

My brother in law just bought a brand new cbf1000, the bikes feels much the same and has about the same performance. Looking at it this way I prefer spending money on a bike that I know inside out and that each time I get on for a ride I say to myself , love the engine, god this bike is running great.

So I guess that investing a bit of money for these two parts is well worth it, especially that I think it can run for another 100000kms.

Will let you know how it goes.

Ok contacted 2 shops

Honda dealer that i thrust and also another shop that Honda uses when they cannot find the trouble on a bike.

cost two for all a bit less at the shop compared to the dealer.

i arrived home and started the engine and listened, alternator chain is fine i cannot hear it slapping, iot is the cam , i think the cct might be dity and not working properly because, it does not stop working overnight. so i will clean it this week-end and see. Ever heard of this?

But first it does the sounf cold, and haven,t done a long enough ride to judge yet. Will keep you posted.

If i strip it down, I have a spare cct that i am going to modify to Henry m specs and try it, will let you know.

Keep us informed Carl,

I'm not sure the cam chain tensioner gets 'dirty'. You'd change your oil at factory intervals wouldn't you?

Probably just the CCT complaining in a different manner

Cheers, SB

A sync of the carbs & subsequent adjustment of the "balancer" might help too Carl
