Default Well..... got the bike back from shop but......

OK, picked up my bike from having the carbs gone through. Those that helped me...thanks sooooo much for finding those diaphragm online. So, here is where it gets interesting.

It ran awesome, load it on the trailer bring it home. Now I go to start it and it will not start. It cranks over but no start. I do a quick diagnostic and the bike now has no spark?

WTF?????

UGH.......no spark from any coil.

ANY SUGGESTIONS BEFORE I SNAP.....LOL

So, it ran at the shop, was put on the trailer, shipped home and now doesn't run with no spark to any plug?

It must be a wiring or fuse issue. If it were the main 30 amp fuse it wouldn't crank. So I'd be looking at the fuses under the left hand upper cowl and also the wiring connections to the coils.

Did you check the regulator/rectifier?

Cheers, SB

You are correct, drove it up on trailer. Brought it home. went to unload and nada, crank no start.

30 amp fuse good, all fuses under left panel good. I have normal lights on dash while cranking, oil, side stand, neutral, .....rectifier plugged in, battery on charger while cranking..lift up tank, no spark to any coil......

Nothing unplugged that I can see...will check more in morning as its dark now and I'm over it tonight....

+ about 100.

Life would be much easier if the kill switch actually worked on the starting circuit, rather than just the ignition side.

Would save those embarrassing moments outside Coffee Shops

Yuppers, sounds like an almost certain kill switch. Been having my share of troubles with them on different bikes...

Ok, found loose connection going to coils.

So......got more issues.........

1) Obviously, when i picked up bike it was already warm and needed no choke...... will not start when cold with out starting fluid.

2) Clutch is making a chatter at idle...did not make it before...

Lesson learned.....never take to a shop....fix it yourself........

1 step forward, three steps back.....

Take it back to the shop.
You paid them to do the carbs, something ain't right.
Ask them to check and see if the chatter is related to what they did.

If you've stopped the payment on your visa you should at least do the decent thing and let them have a second crack at it. No bike shop deliberately offers bad service. Even professionals have bad days.
Don't be bitter. call them and have them collect it if you feel strongly enough that they've messed up. You may just be pleasantly surprised by their response.
You got to be fair with them. It's not in their interest to have unhappy customers.
