Default Voltage regulator advise

I see many threads and examples of failed voltage regulators for the 1000f. Is the voltage regulator from Electrosport, manufacturer part # ESR230, a direct plug in replacement for the stock Honda part? Has anyone used this part? How does it compare in quality and reliability to the stock part? Any info is appreciated.

I just bought an Electrosport R/R. My lights (external and idiot lights) are now brighter and don't flicker or dim as much as they used to with the old R/R. Voltage is regulated to about 14.5V at 4-5,000 rpm. It has cooling fins and I also have a little PC fan blowing air past it. I've only been running it for a couple of weeks so can't say howlong it will last.

You should be directed to the correct one, if you do a 'look-up' on their site.

As far as quality, I've been happy. It does come with a warranty, as well.

TimBucTwo...are you referring to the r/r that cBrentb is mentioning?
Just want to be clear. The voltage regulator from an f4 will function fine on a 90' 1000f? Is the connector style the same, or does it need to be wired to a new one? Did you guys purchase new, or used from ebay?

I was actually referring to the one hmm and tcook310 mentioned. Sorry about the confusion. Here is the ElectroSport LINK.

You may be able to find one by searching on their part number.

Here's one on EBAY

Be careful on e-bay there are some that claim to work but don't. I have one in of those sitting in the draw of my work bench. You can try to get your money back but good luck with that.

Some of us have bought Electrex units - charging rate is better and starts down around 1400 revs. Big cooling fins and a complete set of male and female plugs which are easy to fit.
look at
Electrex Systems

Guarantee of 12 months - I've bought them for at least 6 different road bikes and never any problems.

BTW The OEM Reg/Rec has NO GUARANTEE FROM HONDA so if its DOA on arrival you're out of luck
