Sounds about right
I would set it 20v if you have the option, but 200v is ok
red to red, black to black
when you rev the bike, the volts should go up to around the 14-15

Maybe it is the way your specificmeter should be connected, but putting the black wire (earth/minus) to 10 ADC sounds odd to me. Normally one connects minus toa COM terminal.

When measuring voltage the black shall be in the middle terminal (COM). It worked in your case since the high amp shunt resistor is placed on the minus-side. Another model would haveburn or burn the fuse.

Since the instrument draw very little current, the voltage value will be the same when you connect it correctly.

The red wire is correct and the 20Vsetting is also correct, just move the black to COM.

R1000 Just another quick question please, I placed the new battery in the old girl fired really easy and I placed the Voltmeter on the battery and got the following figures they seem right to me but I am always open to opinion. Wazza
1000 RPM - 12.68
1500 RPM - 13.98
2000 RPM - 14.98 to 15.01

The readings looks great, it charges realfine already a 1500 rpm. 15 volts is a bitinto the high side but since it is normal for the CBR 1000 F it is quite OK.

Edit: added pic from service manual
