I would have thought City Bike Racing. After all the old CB was City Bike.

I had always understood it was City Bike Racer. And CB = City Bike. Lame, but there ya go.

CB is not the designation for an inline four, since all (most) of the parallel twins of the 60's and 70's, CB 350, CB360, CB450 and CB500 and others carried the CB moniker. Plus the CBX of the late 70's was an inline six.
