Trailer hitch on 92 CBR ??? Anyone ???
Hi All, Have been searching around your site for a short while now & cant seem to find the info I'm looking for.
Anyway firstly my name is Dan & I'm 30 & live in Oz. I just recently bought a 92 CBR1000F. Heres link to bike I bought.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....;rd=1&rd=1
I'm looking tomake a towbar hitch for my bike, so I can tow a small bike trailer behind the bike for camping gear & other stuff. I can see where to mount the front supports bars but not sure where the rear ones would mount.
I cant seem to find any info or pics on hitches for the CBR's. Anyone know where I can find info or pics?
Regards
Dan

I know a bloke who has done this to his Honda ST
Once you get to where your going, you un-hitch it and then you have your freedom back.
His traliers double as a table.
Wouldn't work for me, I have to much sh*t, we have problems with space in the 4X4, let alone a bike.

Adding a hitch would make sense to me. But would the hitch affect anything when the trailer is off? I just pack a backpack along with me. But I don't go on a full week ride. My pack(THOR brand)is one made for ATV cross country riding. Sprayed it with some waterproofing, and it's good to go.

Wouldnt use the trailer all the time, & no it wouldn't affect the bike or handleing when trailer is off. My wife & I like to doshort touring around on the weekends & longer touring when we get holidays. So camping gear for the two of us plus other gear, we would need a trailer. my last bike had a towbar but I never had a trailer. Now I want to either buy a trailer or build one. So first I need to make towing hitch.

Ok, I searched & searched & emailed here there & everywhere, But no one new about a proper towing hitch for my bike. So bugger it, I'm almost finished making one myself.
Just need to weld on the plate that the tow-ball will bolt onto.

Hey bonnet boy
That looks dangerous, you gonna hit something that will throw you off-balance as your rear wheel will lift off the ground. The free-play on your rear suspension is seems limited and especially at high speeds when you hit a bump or go over a pot-hole.
my two cnets worth
