I was running these too - great tyre.

They will be going on to my Blackbird when the current BT021's expire.

+1 for BT-021s, they are my first new tires on this bike, bought used with very "old" tires, so these are GREAT. They were also at a very good price from a vendor in Miami, Accessories International, $279.28 total incl. shipping and I paid $16.31 FL sales tax. in there too.

Michelin PR2s. Can't fault 'em. Any weather great grip. PR1s gave good kms too so the 2s will be my choice from now on. Can't see any of the good make tyres being a bad choice though. Probably go a sports tour if you're mainly commuting though, or you'll wear out the centres too quick.

Having worn down the footpeg studs and my knee sliders with them on - I still managed 5,500 miles from a rear - changed the front at same time but it looked good for a few thousand more.

I ran a 120 / 180 setup on my 1991 bike.

As I said - they will be going on the Blackbird when the 021's expire

I put BT016's on last spring. Very good grip. Tires and brakes are the most important pieces of safety equipment on the bike. I won't cheap out for a few dollars when it comes to my hide.

I happened to be talking motorcycles with a friend at work and he had an extra set of Michelin PR2's. What a coincidence. I grabbed them from him for $200. I'm good to go now.

Thanks for all the responces though, seems with all the new technology out there now you can't go wrong with just about any brand. i guess it's what you prefer.

10-4. Thanks for the info..

That's true, bassman.... Tires and brakes would be a bad place to skimp. (or let go)
Only thing that gets me is how a BT-021 can be $115 vs. the PR2 that's like $176? Is it really worth $100 more per set for the PR2s? Both are a dual compound, B load, W speed rated tire.... that seem to both get great reviews?
I just don't get it. (really, I don't)
I can understand not putting on a brand you've never heard of because they're $50 per tire (), but how the heck do you really know?

I found with the PR2's that they lasted about 3000 miles LONGER than the 021's.
I can't feel any difference in grip between them - maybe the rubber compound is more expensive ? Prices here are about the same..............maybe import costs are different ..........
