Default Things I should change??

OK, I just brought my 93 1000f home and need some advice. I want to replace a few things that need replacement such as: both sprockets, drive chain, brake fluid, coolant and oil.
2?'s - 1. Is there any recommended places where I should be looking to buy the sprockets and chain, and
2. Is there anything else that I should be looking at?

Sorry one other ? Is a brake bleeder a must have when bleeding?

thanks, Matt

P.S. if you haven't seen the pic I posted check it out below.

27's - ????
1 - just buy steel sprockets, from a good manufacturer. 17/42 is std gearing
2No, you don't have to have a brake bleeder, but it does make it easier.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE 93 BLEEDING - HAS LINKED BRAKES AND THERE'S A SPECIFIC SEQUENCE. IT CAN BE A REAL B1TCH IF YOU GET IT WRONG !!!!
Check history..........
3 Drive chain - get a Gold link if you can - saves you in the long run - cheap chains don't last long on 1000F's
4 Coolant - S'posed to be 50/50 with DISTILLED WATER
5 Oil - big debates here - I use Rotella T DIESEL OIL 15/40. Maybe with your low temps in Mass you may want to think of 10/40. Again, check history on oil debate.
Grab a manual from the technical section..................
Hope this helps..........................

Matt , sprocketcenter dot com .........easy has kits and you can custom size your
sprockets..........go with a DID Xring chain + rivet link..........and you'll need a chain
toolset if ya don't have one.....

Oil ...........Rotella T is good ..........make sure whatever you get does NOT have
the energy conserving stamp on it as it has friction modifiers and will cause clutch
slippage. Prestone 50/50 premix is the best way to go.....Just pour straight in

Check the battery and Regulator / Rectifier .....if battery seems low on electrolite
chance are she's old or the R/R is boiling the fluid out of it ......so it's good to keep
an eye on that especially.

After that pray for sunshine !!!!!!! Roll on April 1st

I just posted the Bleeding sequence in the How-To section. It is in the manual that you can download also.

You don't need a bleeder. It is easy to work the bleeders while squeezing the lever or pushing on the pedal.

Nice looking bike, it will make you proud.

I'm getting a little concerned here, what with *** (?) questions, and fiddling with your stuff - that's more in Trout's line than mine.
He's a bit strange, is Trout.
Almost harmless, but I wouldn't let him near any farm animals, though...................

Oh but you're most welcome, on a serious note.
Go to the technical section and download a manual for your beastie.............

Careful what you wish for.........................EEEK !

Shadow, I respectfully ask that you put my bike back as my avatar. As for Trout and my animals sake I hope he never finds his way to Central Mass.
On another note I have already downloaded the manual and found it very helpful.

Matt
