Test Ride.......Not Bad At All

Inmates,

Took her out for a test ride down a road near home last sunday, i am suprised you could not see the smile on my face from where you live.

The one thing that left me wondering is how hard I had to go in the revs between each gear change, between 5000 & 6000Rpm's. And it felt like the bike was calling me chicken saying is that all YOU got.

Cant' wait to get her road registered and in full time use (early Jan 2010)

Just how hard can you push these girls through the gears?

All the very best to you all, and your families for the holiday/christmas season.

Enjoy yourselves and be safe

Aussie Johnno

Did you guys notice that we never hear a blown engine story? Sometimes a "won't start" or some electrical/battery glitch, but no "threw a rod" or "broke a valve" stories.

Thrash her long hard and often , is I think the general consensus and is certainly what I'd recommend ! After that I like to go for a ride on my bike:icon_wink:

They are built well or they would not be around this long. Honda dropped the ball on the VFR500. It had a week oil pump and if the rider rode down in the revs, it would spin the rod bearings. Nice little bike other than that but not many around anymore due to the pump.

As far as high rev-ing these bikes, it will take it but my gears don't like meshing up there so I only shift up there now and then. If I remember correctly, I am not alone with this happening.

5000-6000 RPM is where the power only starts to come in - push her to at least 8500 RPM to get all the horsepower and torque that she has.
Top speed, dunno I've had mine to 265KPH (12 K's in 4 minutes) - the road goes by at a helluva rate, believe me......... and she had a bit left, but you need to use all the revs to get her there. Bike's got more balls than I do, for sure........................:)
