Temp switch for fan

RE: Temp switch for fan
Hi Pete - Good find but FYI - IMO - Take Care - this is false advertising.
They say ....
"This Low Temperature Fan Switch upgrade reduces the cooling fan's activation temperature to
80°C / 177F from the stock setting of 102°C / 216F, thus improving the radiator's cooling efficiency."
Reality is that our standard operates in spec @ 80 to 84 degrees C. See Manual page 21-5.

Your quite right - I re-read the manual... Fan "ON 98-102 degrees C" thenoff "Stop Open 93-97 degrees C".
Thank god were all here to check on each others interpretations to get things sorted.
What dose all this then mean???? IMO...
[ul][*]STANDARD HONDA SPECS - Current optimal operating temp = 80 to 95 degrees C (See both themostst operational temp - fully open @ 95 degrees C and Fan switch off @ 93-97 degrees C). [The themostat opens @ 80 degrees C before the fan switch comes "ON"][/ul]
[ul][*]WITH NEW ALTERNATE FAN SWITCH - The fan will come on @ 80 degrees C,as soon as the engine reaches theminimal operating temperature of80 degrees C. [ the engine would never get above MINIMAL operating temp ???] [/ul]
Think I stick with the standard Honda specs and just make sureI have up to date fluid and a radiator that's clean of bugs and other crap that gets caught in it.

My old girl could do with an over ride switch, as she hates the traffic in the heat ...
Are your pics of the switch setup?

Bonjour Carl,mon ami !
Where have you been hiding ?
Some pics of your switch placement would be very nice.
Temp here in traffic gets quite high, esp in summer months (now)
My only concern would be draining the battery......??
Did you receive your cd's - parts list ?
