Default Syncing Carbs

When we bought the bike the guy told us we should get the carbs synchronized. Does this take a master motorcycle mechanic, or is it something that my husband I (both mechanically inclined) can do on our own? If so, can anyone help explaining the process?

Look at that? Q A'd in one post!
It doesn't get better than that.
Welcome TG. Don't hesitate to ask for anything you need to know. There's always someone in the know round here.
Sprock! WTF is boon island? Is that a recent move? Ya given up on Maine?
Sorry to interrupt TG but we have to keep the mods under control ya know! They've been known to forget to take the mod meds occasionally.

Ah, thanks Sprock.
Just checking you were alright. Now I know what you're on about. Catch anything or was it all self abuse?

If it can, make sure you get the latest model with the stainless steel rods. Don't buy mercury.
I'm sure the ebay retailers will send to the states.

Hey:

Just a note that you should do a valve check prior to doing a carb sync, as the valves can affect the quality of the sync.

Mal has a lot of info on it here. https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-tos-8...ictures-47177/

Also on the Morgan tune, it is very easy to use for most, and accurate. A really good set of guages is more accurate just a bigger pain for not much more gain and harder to keep calibrated, plus they cost more.

www.carbtune.com they send direct to you so no need for a USA dealer the best for most folks no fluid that aerates/bubbles, no toxic mercury, no constant calibration issues as with guages, only bad thing about them is the plastic screw in connectors, they should have been stainless or at least brass.

Just trying to get you to spend all the kids Xmas moneys aren't I, LOL. But the Carbtune Pro works great and saves you at least a 1/2 of what a good shop would charge if not more.

Here's what I use, it's very cool. Works great, he's working on a 4-way version but
the 2-way is what I have. I just use an aquarium air-manifold to switch between the 3
different carbs to compare to the main one.

He is apparently an entrepeneur and selling through the forum he used for initial test-development. He had mine to me in 4 days from ordering.
