Default switching out 600 rear sub frame

Hey guys I'm about to embark on the rear sub frame swap out. I've seen a few articals on swaping out a 600 rr rear subframe on our bike and I'm going to gi it a whirl. I'll take lots of pics cause I want to make a how to guide ( so I can make millions off you guys just kidding ) so it will be easier for the next guy. I will also try to figure out the easy way to do it meaning tool and the like from local hardware store type stuff. Wish me luck. Oh yeah, on a earler post I said I was going to sell my bike, well I coulnd'nt do it, but if I mess up real bad I'll give you guys a sweet deal lol stayed tuned I'll update on this post.

The whole purpose of me doing this is to write the definitive guide on how to. I mean we all could go get newer bikes, there cheap on craigslist.com and the sort but I luv my scooter and I like a challenge, aftermarketparts are hard to find for our bikes, forget them we'll make them fit. Were like the redheaded step child of sport bikers. I like the fact that when I park at honda the guys say hey wow thats a good looking bike ect, ect. I mean if I wanted weird valve noise I could get a newer R1 for cheap. But hey thats not me I like bullet proof hondas. lol. I am selling my corbin seat and rear tail fearing (white) and rear tail light to anyone who wants it.

I went and purchased a 2000 CBR600F4 tail fairing today. I paid 210.00 for it, which is way to much, saw some on ebay for 30.00 but I wanted it right now for mock up. The rest I will buy cheaper. On a interesting side note I met a kid at the shop who has a older Kawaski. We where talking about what I planned on doing. He said he did but he didnt switch out the the subframe he just cut and used a propane torch to bend his old frame to mesh with his newtail. He had the bike out in the parking lot and damn, he did a great job. it looked really good. I'm tearing the bike down now and it looks like it can be done. I figure what the heck worse case is I have to cut the frame and put a new sub frame on. Which is what I was going to do anyway. I did ask him about how much wieght he had on the back seat and if it dropped any after rebuild and he said no but he didnt have any fat chicks on the back ( his gf was with him she had to be a max weight of 120lbs with them big ol'fake ***** she was hot). Wish I had taken pics of her i mean the bike.

That should look cool...but pretty much to "rebuild". Rear frame and all the plastics, how are you planning to modifythem ?
What tail peace is that on the picture(from wich bike) ?

Im going to try what the kid at the bike shop did first ie cut and bend existing rear frame. Going to try and modify the existing plastic for now ( plan on changing out the rest later ). Basicly I'm trying to "K.I.S.S." and use easley available parts (home depot, ace hardware, insert your local auto store/bike shop/e-bay here_______). I know when I first started looking into moding this bike, I found they make nada for us. So I want to see what works and what doesnt, what easy and the like.

This looks interesting and look forward to how you overcome the structual problems before you cover the frame with plastic.
