Default Swingarm bearing removal

Have taken the swingarm out to replace the bearings but can't get the old bearings out.

For the 'ball bearing' side I have removed the retainingcirclip and tried to knock them out from the other side using a metal bar but so far they haven't budged.

Have yet to try the needle bearing side.

Any tips for getting them out?

How are you holding the swing arm? If the swing arm is not held ridged then when you hit the drift with the hammer, the shock is lost through the swing arm movement, instead of being absorbed by the bearing. Hope this makes sense.

Using a 7lb hammer, metal rodand resting the swingarm on a bench I got both the ball bearing sets out by tapping through pretty hardfrom the opposite side.

Next problem is that I can't get any purchase on the needle rollers to try the same trick from the other side.

Any suggestions or tips to get these needle bearings out would really be appreciated as I don't reallywant to admit defeat and have to take it to a dealer.

I have never done it before, but I thought once you have one side out you use a drawbolt setup to remove the otherside

The best way to remove the cup is to run a weld around on the inside of it and cool it quickly it then shrinks and falls out.

I had the same issue with the needle bearing and had to to hammer a file down the side to remove. Really important is you have to use a draw bolt to get it back in if you tap it in you will deform the race. I just got a threaded rod from home depot and some heavy duty washers/sockets. Good luck!
